About

Joelle grew up in the outskirts of Boston with her enchanting three younger brothers. She began her voice studies at Tanglewood and New England Conservatory, where she studied jazz voice.

Growing up, she was a jazz vocalist at a number of venues in the Boston area, including Scullers Jazz Club. She also was given the opportunity to sing in Amateur Night on Showtime at the Apollo where she was, thank goodness, not booed off stage.

Following a leap over to the Midwest to study opera at Indiana University School of Music, she decided to transfer back home to Beantown and finish her degree in voice at Boston University College of Fine Arts. After spending a summer studying opera at the Opera Theatre and Music Festival of Lucca, Italy, she graduated Boston University in 2005.

During her time at BU, (when she was not jang janging with her a cappella group, Terpsichore), she began doing jingles for regional TV and radio ads, as well as workshops of new musicals. She also continued performing in the Boston jazz scene, hosting a weekly night at Encore Piano Lounge.

Summers were spent at Quisisana Resort on beautiful Lake Kezar in southern Maine, performing roles such as Fruma Sarah in Fiddler on the Roof and also being the jazz vocalist with the resort’s jazz band.

Since making the move to New York, She has been featured on a variety of recording projects, including songwriter submissions to major artists such as Britney spears, national jingle spots, radio branding, back up vocals for recording artists such as Chris Mann and also featured on Josh Ritter's latest album, ‘The Historical Conquests of Josh Ritter’. She has continued recording new musical works, including Michael Wartofsky's The Navigator, commissioned by North Shore Music Theatre.

She most recently returned to Boston to play the role of Shawntel/Eve in Jerry Springer the Opera with SpeakEasy Stage Company.

This past year, Joelle appeared in her sold out cabaret with her jazz trio at The Metropolitan Room, and continues to perfom around New York City. She is a member of Actors' Equity.
