About The Band
Joelle & the Pinehurst Trio is a dynamic New York City based quartet comprised of four accomplished and talented musicians. We pride ourselves on the quality of our music, range of repertoire, versatility, and the enthusiasm and professionalism we bring to every engagement.

Joelle and the Pinehurst Trio is a traditional format of piano, upright bass, and drums fronted by the talented vocalist Joelle Lurie. We are well versed in traditional vocal and instrumental jazz, and can accompany your party at the perfect volume. We’re sensitive to the mood that your party calls for and will provide a classy background to your cocktail hour or dinner, while giving you quality music that will satisfy the most demanding listener. The four of us are all active on the New York City Jazz scene, and members of our group have also performed at the most prestigious jazz clubs and festivals in the world, including The Blue Note New York, The Blue Note Tokyo, Montreal Jazz Festival, North Sea Jazz Festival, Nice Jazz Festival, Yoshi’s San Francisco, and have also appeared on “Late Night” with David Letterman.

We can also rock your party! We will bring the electric bass and keyboards to play a wide range of high energy R&B, Pop and Rock from the 60′s to present. There’s nothing better for us than filling up the dance floor and getting everyone to sing along. Joelle & the Pinehurst Trio are happy to learn specific songs at your request that you’d like to hear at your event.

If you want to hear Lady Day, Lady Gaga, or both, Joelle & the Pinehurst Trio are the perfect group. We love to play music together and have a great time, and that always comes across to help create a fun and memorable party.

Testimonials

Joelle and The Pinehurst Trio’s warm and lively music engaged our wedding guests and set the tone for a perfect night to come.  With Joelle’s smooth, jazzy, and sexy voice leading the trio, the band charmed and impressed the crowd with their versatility and skill.  They also displayed professionalism and reliability in planning and setup for the event, combining remarkable talent with a dependable business.  We would hire them again for any important celebratory event.

-Lauren & Amy, 4/23/2011, Wedding cocktail hour & ceremony, New York, NY

Joelle, Ben, Nick and Conor are truly talented and added the perfect ambiance to our wedding reception. Their repertoire is varied and extensive and they did a great job feeling the vibe of the audience and playing a suitable song selection. We had so many people compliment us on the band and ask for their cards – even our venue’s coordinator asked for their card for upcoming events. Everyone loved them. We couldn’t have been happier.

-Helena M, 6/18/2011, Wedding Reception, Philadelphia, PA

I can honestly say that you guys easily earned five stars… and beyond! You were absolutely wonderful. The set list was great and you all seemed comfortable with the material. It was obvious that you were having fun with it as well. My guests were blown away, and made several comments to me about how much they enjoyed the band. Even my dad, who originally wanted a DJ, was very happy we hired you. Thanks for trying to accommodate the other performer – that was above and beyond. Oh, and for putting up with silly requests (“Layla”? Really?) I can’t say enough great things. Please feel free to contact us if you ever need a reference!

-Tiffaney S, 6/10/2011, Wedding Reception, Wanamassa, NJ

Joelle & The Pinehurst Trio are fantastic. Joelle and the trio were most accommodating. All requests were handled quickly. They were a pleasure to work with. And did I mention their musical ability? Truly amazing! From Jazz to rock and everything in between, they were the tops. They got rave reviews from everyone at our affair. We can’t wait to see them in a club date sometime soon, so that we can appreciate their music in a quieter venue. Each time we dance “cheek to cheek” we’ll remember our special day.
